Stitching Alaska Landscapes
Create beautiful fabric landscapes, using a photo and simple hand-stitching techniques.
About the Class:
6-Hour Class A great project for beginners and experienced stitchers alike. Learn how to use an inspirational image to create composition, free-hand cut and layer fabrics and finish them to create a beautiful framed landscape. Using the skills you'll learn in the class, you'll have a brand new way to use up small fabric remnants from your stash, or create thoughtful gifts for friends and family anywhere. Does your best friend live in Hawaii? Stitch her a Hawaiian landscape for her next birthday... Students leave with their fully completed and framed landscape, extra fabrics and supplies and all the skills needed to make any future landscape project at home! WHAT TO BRING: A desire to learn and have a fun day with fellow crafters! NOTE: HAND STITCHING REQUIRES STRONG HAND-EYE COORDINATION. PLEASE BRING READING GLASSES, IF YOU FEEL YOU MIGHT NEED THEM. WHAT'S INCLUDED: Everything you need for your project, including: > Fabrics > Embroidery threads > Needles & tools > Frames and framing supplies > Take-With Reference Materials ...and more Any additional tools and supplies you might need, will be provided at the class. Snacks and beverages will be provided at the class. There will be a 30 minute break halfway through the class, for students to leave for lunch, if desired.
Class Policy:
1) Classes take place at the 8 Star Events Center - Classroom #101 (1485 30th Avenue, Fairbanks, AK, USA) 2) Please plan to arrive at 8:45am to ensure you don't miss the beginning of the class. Classes start promptly at 9:00am. Classes end at 3:30pm. There will be a 30 minute break between 12:00-12:30. 3) Classes must have at least 4 students. Should a class not meet the student minimum, you will be contacted no less than 48 hours in advance of the class to reschedule <or> receive a full refund. 4) Classes are non-refundable after booking. Should you need to reschedule, your class payments may be transferred to a different date. However, this change must be submitted and approved no less than 7 days in advance of the class date. Should you need to make a last minute change, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Late attendance or failure to attend the class altogether, forfeits the class payment. 5) Minimum age for students is 10 years old. Students 10-15 must be accompanied by an adult guardian who is also registered for the class. Please note that while beginner-friendly and absolutely accessible for younger students, this class does require the use of rotary cutters or fabric scissors. 6) Only paying students may attend the class. Friends, family and children are not permitted. Students under 18 years of age may only participate with the written consent of a parent/legal guardian. A consent form will be electronically provided to any students under 18, after sign up.
